August 26, 2008Anne Price-MillsI'm at an airport, and I only caught the last little bit of Hillary!'s speech on CNN... but gosh. Did anyone see Anne Price-Mills, a delegate for Hillary interviewed on CNN? Crying. Despair. Angst. "that was a presidential speech, you know it, right there." Then she was getting a little angry. When asked if she would vote for Hillary she said she was elected as a Hillary delegate, and that's how she will vote. ... in the ballot box, she's not sure. Obama has two months to win her over. She's not going to vote McCain, but maybe Obama. Unbelievable. DNC2008 Posted by AlexC at August 26, 2008 11:36 PM |
I saw it, and yeah, I can relate. I agree that Obama has two month. He does NOT have this election "in the bag" by any means.
Posted by: Nobama at August 27, 2008 12:05 AMI saw it and to be blunt... it pissed me off. She's an African-America woman and the truth is that she's African-American 1st a woman 2nd. And for her to stand there and talk about not voting KNOWING the struggle that many before her went through to give her the right, really hurts my heart. She needs to take herself to the ballot box and write-in Hillary if she has to, but not voting should never be an option, especially for an African-America woman!
Posted by: From Atlanta Georgia at August 27, 2008 12:19 AMI am Black and Female too. History is being made in more ways than one and there is another glass ceiling still to be shattered, if Ann Price Mills is into shattering ceilings.
We Democrats must understand the simple fact that NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA IS ELECTING JOHN MCCAIN. Does she know why she's at the DNC? Was she passionately in Hillary's corner because she is female, or for the policies and people she ran for ? If Barack had loss, I would have voted for Hillary in a heart's beat. I am a Democrat. I pray that she hasn't confused the Hillary voters, and subjected us to 4 more years of Bush. Every single vote counts. Every vote. know that there are Democrats that say they are going to vote who don't because they think that enough of us can pull it through for them. Ann Price should be voting so that my house doesn't go into foreclosure, so that my husband can keep his job, so that my sister-in-law and daughter can have health care. She should be voting so that the next time I call about my television, I'm not having a discussion with someone in india that can't even say my name. She should be voting so that we can afford to put gas in our cars, or have transportation that is not dependent on supporting terrorism in the middle east. She should be voting so that we I go to the store I don't have to choose between buying food and getting gas for the car. I don't have to put back food I can't afford because my retirement income barely covers our living expenses, and disqualifies us from getting food stamps.
She said that Barack didn't have experience, Well, George W. did have leadership experience and led us to war in Iraq, and economic recession, led us into our jobs being outsourced, led us on a flip-flop mission to get Osama and coming back with Suddam. Barack has judgement, and judgement goes further than leadership. American's elected Bush's leadership and Dick Cheney's judgement. Hillary like Barack is a senator, the only way to get leadership experience IS by LEADING.
She is in a leaders position to greatly influence people, and God put you on a NATIONAL stage to support YOUR candidate and, YOUR party. Someone entrusted her to lead, to do the right thing. Ann Price Mills let us down on a NATIONAL stage. I am sure Hillary chose every word carefully to make sure that her voters would receive her message. I am disappointed in Ann Price Mills as a Black, I am disappointed in her as a woman. Don't undo all that Hillary has done up to this point. She needs to encourage all people to vote. EVERYTIME so that we have a true American Voice.
Al Gore lost the presidency with less than 1000 votes. EVERY VOTE counts. We need EVERY DEMOCRATIC VOTE AND ANY OTHERS TO CHANGE what we have for government today.
Posted by: Sharon at August 27, 2008 12:53 AMSharon...you said everything I wanted to hear someone say about Anne Price Mills. She should be ashamed of herself! Ashamed. I am soooo furious! And to the "nobama" person. Are you kidding me? Does McCain have "this" in the bag??? People are SOOO busy hating that they are missing the KEY issues here. I hope you can live with yourself if McCain gets elected and this country keeps on the path its on...i have a feeling.."nobama" will be EATING their words. FOOLS.
Posted by: Are you kidding me? at August 27, 2008 4:12 AMBravo to Anne Price Mills. What an opportunity the democrats have missed to create a winning ticket and unify. It is not sour grapes. Clinton did sound presidential. Too bad the men of power and Obama are more scared of a powerful woman than they are of losing this election
Posted by: toni at August 27, 2008 7:28 AMI think this lady is an idiot! And she's a delegate? I guess it doesn't take much to be a delegate when you got stupid people like this being delegates. She spoke of being a democrat. The party is bigger than the person you back. It's party time now. And for her to struggle with weather to vote or not vote shows how much of an idiot she is. Because to not vote is throwning her support behind McCain. So her saying I will not vote for McCain means nothing. Because to not vote is to take away from the same Demorcrats you claim to be, you IDIOT!!!! This is for the dumb idiot and anyone who thinks like her. LET'S GET THE EFFIN REPUBLICANS OUT!!!! THAT IS THE MISSION!!!!
Posted by: Go Obama! Go Democrats! at August 27, 2008 9:08 AMWelcome to ThreeSources. I hope some of you will stick around even after reading some other posts. Most -- if not all -- of the authors around here will be voting for the "effing Republicans" come November.
From Atlanta Georgia: Great town, but you break my heart when you say "she's African-American 1st a woman 2nd." This blog may be full of some dreaded Republicans, but we argue first on policy and principles. I would not let race or gender influence my vote either way. Aren't policy differences more important?
Thanks for the generally intelligent discourse, I do hope some or all of you stick around to show us free-market capitalists where we are wrong.
Posted by: jk at August 27, 2008 10:53 AMAnne-Price Mills went to church at MLK and she acted the same way over everything. Last night did not surprise anyone in Renton, Kent or Seattle Washington from behind this woman. This is a woman who wants to steal a day from senior who had worked hard for 12 year, but she thought she was more important. Shame on you Anne-Price Mills a black woman who know what going on here. Anne-Price Mills has always wanted to be white, but she is a pertender. Who I really feel sorry for are her kids. She has a nice husband. So Anne-Price Mills VOTE for anyone you choose. WOW Anne I felt really bad for you last night a momement you could have done so much with and you use it for stupid.
Posted by: Freddie Keyes at August 27, 2008 11:24 AMWell, Alex, I guess a few people got lost on the way to Denver. Geez. Just look at all the fools who want to live their lives via money that government takes from others.
Those of us who oppose Obama are accused of racism. Those of us who oppose Hillary are accused of sexism. Yet as we see right here, it's Obama's and Hillary's supporters who manufacture the racism and sexism issues.

Posted by: PUMA Tx at August 27, 2008 2:35 PM"I guess black women aren't entitled to support Hillary? What about the black female politician from Illinois who was assailed by black Emil Jones, also from Illinois, and accused of being an "Uncle Tom" for her support of Hillary and not for his choice, Obama at the convention? Or how about the deceased Rep. Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, also black, who was a devoted Hillary supporter? I guess just because a person's skin pigment is dark, they must automatically support and devote themselves to bi-racial and half black Obama, lest they be charged with dereliction in affection of their race. The betrayal is being color-blind and supporting someone merely because of their skin color, and not based on the merits of their qualifications and experience. Women of color who remain in support of Hillary are much more intelligent than those who blindly support Obama just because he appears black."
I think Anne Price Mills is the biggest idiot that I ever layed eyes on. She is a disgrace to the African American race. All of her family and friends should have been embarrassed to even be associated with such a nut case. Everyone I know agrees that she is a useless slob.
Posted by: Tori at August 27, 2008 6:29 PMAnne Price Mills is the dumbest idiot in captivity!
Posted by: Tori at August 27, 2008 6:37 PMShe pissed me off, too. NO matter how much she likes Hillary, it was time to UNITE the party weeks ago or more.
That was just an embarassment.
I would LOVE a woman president, being a woman, myself. But Hillary has just a 'few too many skeletons in her closet'. Had she been the nominee, she would have been ripped apart between the convention and the election. Between travelgate, and the Rose Law Firm and Vince Foster and there are further accusations, unproven, but would have been dragged up (one website links the deaths of 32 people to her- bodyguards and staff, mainly and likely more than could ever be proven), but it ALL would have been gone over again.
She lost for a lot of reasons, the main reason was NOT because she is female.
This delegate should be ashamed for not holding her tongue during the DNC. It only goves the McCain people fodder.
Posted by: Tracy at August 28, 2008 12:07 AMYes Tracy, you are right - because Obama is as pure and clean as the wind-driven snow. He won't face a BIT of criticism for anything in HIS past. (Does he have a past? Oh yes, William Ayers.)
Posted by: johngalt at August 28, 2008 1:01 PMJG, you mentioned snow. Snow is white.
YOU RACIST!!!
Posted by: Perry Eidelbus at August 28, 2008 4:28 PMPerry, you are correct. I do favor a particular race - the HUMAN race.
