Just 3 percent of the oil and 13 percent of the gas under federal land is accessible under standard lease terms that require only basic protections for the environment and cultural resources, according to the survey, which was ordered last year by Congress. An additional 46 percent of the oil and 60 percent of the gas "may be developed subject to additional restrictions" such as bans to protect animals and sensitive terrain during parts of the year. Another example of government being the primary obstacle to lower gas prices. They're in the way, as usual. Oil and Energy Posted by AlexC at November 29, 2006 1:12 AM |
Hey, the fact we buy oil abroad which funds terrorists is a good thing. I mean, when was the last time a terrorist tried to blow up a rock that the seven toed blind newt was using as a breeding créche. Now, if we could get Al Kookda to declare a fatwa against the flora and fauna of America as well ... oh, boy. The Nature freaks would ... well, freak.
